Weather changed in Delhi NCR, relief from rain with strong cold winds

The weather suddenly took a turn in Delhi NCR. The rain with thunder and strong winds have given relief to the people from the heat. It is raining heavily in Delhi and its surrounding areas. The temperature has dropped due to strong cold winds blowing with rain. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had told in the forecast that there will be heavy rains with thunderstorms and strong winds in Delhi NCR.

There are reports of strong winds, rain and light rain at many places from Delhi to Noida, whereas in Ghaziabad, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and Bijnor districts of Uttar Pradesh, rain and light thunderstorms occurred.

Yellow alert was issued for Thursday

In Delhi NCR, like in the past, the mercury was running above 43 degrees, but a drop in temperature was recorded on Thursday evening. However, on Wednesday, the Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert for rain on Thursday due to the activation of Western Disturbance. Now the Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain for the next two days.

Meteorologist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dr. Manjit Singh said that there are chances of light to moderate rains in the Delhi-NCR region for the next one or two days. There is a possibility of strong winds due to the activation of Western Disturbance. There is a possibility of strong winds and rains till May 26 and 27.

It will rain in many states

While giving an update about the monsoon, the IMD said that it is currently in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea and in the next 24 hours the situation is becoming such that it will advance rapidly. Along with this, it will rain in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand in the next one week. At the same time, there is a possibility of good rains in many states of South India.
