Kolkata: On Wednesday, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee got injured in a minor car accident as returning from Bardhaman to Kolkata, according to the source. Officials said that the car driver had to press emergency breaks which caused the accident.
According to sources, she was returning to Kolkata by road due to bad weather when the accident occurred in Burdwan. A car suddenly came in front of her convoy due to which the driver abruptly applied brakes, which injured the Chief Minister.
Officials said that the Trinamool chief suffered minor injuries to her head and is being brought back to Kolkata. Banerjee had gone to Purba Bardhaman this afternoon to chair an administrative review meeting.
