10 people dead after cab plunges into gorge on Jammu Srinagar National Highway

Jammu-Kashmir: On Friday, the Jammu and Kashmir police that at least 10 people died after a passenger taxi rolled down a gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway near Battery Chashma in Ramban area. The accident happened near the Ramban area.

Jammu-Kashmir: On Friday, the Jammu and Kashmir police that at least 10 people died after a passenger taxi rolled down a gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway near Battery Chashma in Ramban area. The accident happened near the Ramban area.

After receiving information about this incident, the police added that a team of the local police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and civil Quick Response Team (QRT) of Ramban, reached the spot.

In a statement, the Jammu and Kashmir police said,” 10 people dead after a passenger taxi rolled down a deep gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway near Battery Chashma in Ramban area. Police, SDRF and civil QRT Ramban reached on spot, rescue operation is going on.”

Jammu and Kashmir Police has confirmed that rescue operations are underway at the site. A video of the highway shared on social media, shows a team of rescue officials at the spot. The weather department had said in its forecast on Thursday that there is a possibility of rain or snowfall along with thunderstorms in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh region.
