A 35-year-old woman hailing from West Bengal was found lifeless in her rented residence at Masoodpur, near Vasant Kunj, South Delhi. The unsettling circumstances have led the police to suspect foul play, especially with the woman’s husband mysteriously absent since the grim discovery.
The room where the woman was found had been locked from the outside, and further complicating the situation, her husband’s mobile phone was found switched off. Investigators on the scene have voiced strong suspicions that the husband might be involved in her untimely demise, citing that no visible external injuries were observed on her body. This absence of injuries hints at possible suffocation or strangulation, though conclusive details await the results of the impending autopsy.
Deputy Police Commissioner (southwest) Manoj C recounted the rapid response of authorities, having been alerted about the incident at 8:10 am on Monday. Upon reaching the scene, the police found the room sealed shut from the inside. Swift action was taken to access the room, after which the woman was promptly transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, medical professionals confirmed her passing.
The deceased woman and her husband had relocated to the Masoodpur residence just a month prior. Earlier, the husband had been employed as a garbage collector but had since transitioned to a role at a petrol pump. The couple’s two children are reported to reside in West Bengal.
