Delhi Excise policy scam case: Delhi court extends Manish Sisodia’s judicial custody till May 8

New Delhi: On Friday, AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia along with Vijay Nair and others judicial custody has been extended till May 8 by Delhi court over the money laundering charges in the Excise police case.

On April 18, his judicial custody was extended to April 26. On Wednesday, the same court extended Sisodia’s judicial custody till May 7 in a parallel case in the same matter being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Sisodia was produced before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Court on the expiry of his previously extended judicial custody on Friday. Earlier on April 20, Sisodia received another blow from the court, when his bail plea was denied.

For the upcoming general elections, Sisodia had sought interim bail from the court in the excise case to campaign . The court refused to grant bail after the CBI argued that Sisodia could influence further investigation and witnesses if granted bail.

on February 26, 2023, First, Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for his alleged role in the excise police scam. Later, on March 9, 2023, based on the CBI FIR, the Enforcement Directorate arrested him in the money laundering case.
