In a significant development, Kerala Police announced the arrest of a man in connection with the alleged rape of a 56 year old woman in Ernakulam. The incident, as per police reports, occurred on December 13, with the accused identified as Firdous Ali, who purportedly lured the victim under the guise of offering her employment.

According to the police report, the incident unfolded when the victim, who was in search of employment in Kochi, was deceived by Ali, who promised to transport her to the metro station. Instead, he diverted her to a swamp near the railway yard, where he subjected her to sexual assault.

Accused Arrested in Kochi/

Following a comprehensive investigation, the authorities successfully identified and arrested the accused in Kochi. The suspect, Firdous Ali, is scheduled to appear in court today, according to police sources.

The victim, who sustained injuries during the assault, is currently receiving medical care at Kalamassery Medical College.
