In a tragic incident in Agartala’s North Madhyapara area, a 24-year-old man lost his life after making inappropriate remarks about another man’s girlfriend. The accused, identified as Samrat Debnath, a shop employee from the Amtali area, allegedly attacked Sayan Bhowmik with a rod and subsequently stabbed him multiple times with a knife. The incident unfolded on Friday, leading to Debnath’s arrest, who has reportedly confessed to the crime.
The fatal altercation ensued when the victim made inappropriate remarks about Debnath’s girlfriend, escalating the situation into a physical confrontation. The accused responded by striking Bhowmik’s head with a rod before resorting to the use of a sharp knife, resulting in severe injuries.
Following the incident, local residents and law enforcement collaborated to apprehend Debnath, who not only resisted arrest by the police but also attacked the gathering crowd. The accused has been taken into custody and has reportedly admitted to his role in the violent act.
