Akali Dal senior leader Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal and his brother join BJP in New Delhi

New Delhi: Akali Dal senior leaders Sardar Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal and Sardar Jasjit Singh Atwal along with many others from Punjab joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi on Sunday. He was formally inducted into the BJP in the presence of senior BJP leaders at the party's national headquarters in Delhi on Sunday.

New Delhi: Akali Dal senior leaders Sardar Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal and Sardar Jasjit Singh Atwal along with many others from Punjab joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi on Sunday. He was formally inducted into the BJP in the presence of senior BJP leaders at the party’s national headquarters in Delhi on Sunday.

According to BJP sources, AIADMK leader and former Rajya Sabha member Dr. Maitreyan is also going to join the party on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, CR Kesavan, the great-grandson of India’s first Indian Governor-General C Rajagopalachari, had joined the BJP.

Keswan resigned from the Congress on 23 February, saying that ‘he no longer sees even the remnants of the values ​​that motivated him to work for the party with dedication for more than two decades.’

Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge shared her resignation on Twitter, saying that ‘now the symbol of the party, for which she stands or wants to campaign, cannot agree with it.’ The son has come within a month of Anil Antony quitting the Congress. Who left the Congress party after coming in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the controversial BBC documentary series.

Anil Antony joined the BJP on 6 April in the presence of Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and V Muraleedharan. Kerala BJP chief K Surendran and senior party leaders Tarun Chugh and Anil Baluni were also present on the occasion. Earlier on Friday, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Kiran Kumar Reddy joined the BJP in Delhi.

Reddy, who was the last chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, joined the BJP at the BJP headquarters in the presence of Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, General Secretary Arun Singh and MP K Laxman. All these leaders are joining the BJP ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha elections, which is being considered as a blow to all the opposition parties, including the Congress.
