New Delhi: The official Twitter account of the All India Trinamool Congress was hacked on Tuesday. The display picture (DP) of the party account was changed and the display handle was renamed to Yug Labs. The party has said that it has been complained. As of now, the cybercriminals have not tweeted anything from the hacked account.

TMC’s Twitter logo is seen in a ‘Y’ shape in black font. The tweet on this said that ‘Read the last tweet by Yug Labs. #DidirSurakshaKawach is a massive effort to achieve basic livelihood for every resident of Bengal irrespective of age, gender, caste or religion. Didi’s ambassadors are creating awareness in homes to achieve inclusive development and increase welfare of people across the state.’However, Trinamool Congress has separate Twitter accounts for various states.

This is not the first time that a political party’s Twitter handle has been hacked. The All India Trinamool Congress has not yet released an official statement about this. On December 10 last year, the Twitter handle of YSR Congress was hacked. After the account was hacked, it started promoting cryptocurrency. Apart from this, the Twitter bio of the party was also changed to ‘NFT Millionaire’. At the same time, the picture posted by the party was also changed.

In April 2022, the official Twitter account of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office was hacked. Hackers removed the Chief Minister’s display picture from the Twitter handle. Even then, the display photo was changed from the photo of UP CM Yogi Adityanath to a photo of BAYC collection. Hackers changed the account to @BoredApeYC and @YugaLabs.
