Andhra Pradesh mishap: 7 dead, 15 injured after lorry collides with bus in Nellore

The fatal accident unfolded when a moving lorry hit a stationary lorry at the toll plaza while another private bus coming from the other side collided with the moving lorry.

Vijayawada: Tragedy strikes in Andhra Pradesh after Seven people died, and 15 others were critically injured in a fatal road mishap near Kavali Musunur toll plaza in the early hours of Saturday at around 2 am on the National Highway in Nellore district. The accident occurred when two lorries and a private bus collided near the Kavali toll plaza in Nellore district. The injured were rushed to a local hospital.

The fatal accident unfolded when a moving lorry hit a stationary lorry at the toll plaza while another private bus coming from the other side collided with the moving lorry.

The impact of the collision wo so severe that the front part of the bus was crushed and police arrived at the spot and initiated investigation.

The police said that the drivers of the two lorries, the bus driver and four other passengers were killed and the bus that collided with the lorry was crowded. The passengers had to be pulled out from the decayed vehicles and were shifted to the nearest hospitals.

The bus was en-route from Chennai to Hyderabad.

Speaking to sources, Police Superintendent Thirumaleswar Reddy said, “43 people were present at the time of the accident and we shifted them to hospitals in Nellore and Ongole. We have set up a control room to inform the victims and we are relaying information through 9440796383. The investigation will determine the cause of the accident.”
