New Delhi: On Tuesday, an official said that a 21-year-old female nursing student allegedly died by suicide at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. He added that the student was upset after failing in one of her exams.
According to Delhi Police, at around 11.30 am, a PCR call was received informing that a girl student had committed suicide in a hostel room of AIIMS Delhi. The girl was a third-year student hailing from Sheikhpura in Bihar.
After receiving information about this incident, Officers reached the spot and found her hanging from the fan. After that the body has been sent for post-mortem. She was pursuing a BSc degree in nursing at AIIMS Delhi.
A police said that her family members have been informed and an investigation has been initiated in this connection. Forensic and crime team officials conducted a thorough investigation of the hostel room and while no foul play has been found so far, it appears that the death was due to suicide. Further investigation is underway.
