On Wednesday, the Andhra Pradesh High Court granted anticipatory bail to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in connection with three cases. Judge T Mallikarjun Rao issued orders to this effect.

Andhra Pradesh: In a relief for ex Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. On Wednesday, the Andhra Pradesh High Court granted anticipatory bail to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in connection with three cases. Judge T Mallikarjun Rao issued orders to this effect.

Naidu has been directed to refrain from making any comments that could interfere with of influence the investigation. The high court granted anticipatory bail to Naidu, now the leader of the opposition, in the Inner Ring Road (IRR) case, excise policy case and sand mining case.

In November last year, the high court granted bail to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief in the skill development scam case. Naidu was arrested by the state Crime Investigation Department (CID) in connection with the skill development case on September 9 last year.

The TDP chief had filed three separate petitions in the High Court seeking anticipatory bail. The AP High Court on Wednesday pronounced its order after hearing arguments from both the parties.

He was lodged in Rajahmundry Central Jail from September 10 to October 31. The case pertains to the alleged misappropriation of funds from the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), leading to a loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state government.

Ex-minister Kollu Ravindra and retired IAS Srinaresh were also granted anticipatory bail in the liquor case. Naidu has denied any wrongdoing and alleged political vendetta over the cases registered against him.
