In a distressing incident in Banda district, Uttar Pradesh, a 25-year-old woman was seriously injured after being allegedly stabbed by her cousin for refusing his marriage proposal. The accused, identified as Gyan Prakash, aged 26, who is the son of the woman’s maternal uncle, is currently on the run, according to the police.

Attempted Murder in Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place in DM Colony under the Kotwali police station area, where the woman was staying at her maternal uncle’s house. Both the victim and Gyan Prakash were law students at the same college, as revealed by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lakshmi Niwas Mishra.

Around 6 pm on Friday, Gyan Prakash reportedly attacked his cousin, stabbing her in the neck with a knife. The woman was promptly admitted to the Government Medical College in critical condition.

When she rejected his marriage proposal, he attacked her.” A case has been registered against the accused, and law enforcement is actively pursuing efforts to apprehend him.
