Ayodhya Visit by CM Yogi,UP MLAs: Akhilesh Yadav to Skip, Majority Leaders Accept Invitation

Uttar Pradesh ,Lucknow: A significant delegation of legislators from the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature is scheduled to visit Ayodhya today, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana. The purpose of the visit is to offer prayers at the newly inaugurated Ram temple and seek the blessings of Ram Lalla. Despite the widespread participation, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has once again chosen to decline the invitation.

Akhilesh Yadav’s Ongoing Refusal

During a budget discussion in the House on Saturday, Speaker Satish Mahana extended the invitation to Akhilesh Yadav, urging him to join the visit. However, Yadav maintained his stance, stating, “We will go only when Lord Shri Ram calls us.” This marks the second instance of Yadav abstaining from a significant event in Ayodhya, having also skipped the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram Temple.

Diverse Participation Despite Opposition Leader’s Absence

While Yadav continues to decline the invitation, legislators from various parties, including the BJP, Apna Dal Sonelal, Nishad Party, Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party, Rashtriya Lok Dal, Indian National Congress, Jansatta Dal Loktantrik, and Bahujan Samaj Party, have accepted the invitation. The visit is seen as a matter of faith, and Speaker Mahana emphasized that participation is voluntary.

Unwavering Faith and Numbers

The delegation comprises a significant number of legislators, with 400 members in the state assembly and 100 members in the Legislative Council. The exact count of those participating in the Ayodhya visit remains unclear. The BJP, with 252 MLAs, along with its allies Apna Dal (Sonelal), Nishad Party, and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, demonstrates a substantial presence. Despite political differences, the pilgrimage to Ayodhya continues to draw bipartisan participation, reflecting the significance of the religious and cultural sentiments associated with the Ram temple.

Leaders from RLD, BSP, Congress, and Jansatta Dal Loktantrik Accept Ayodhya Invitation

In a rare display of cross-party unity, leaders from different political spectrums have accepted the invitation to visit Ayodhya on February 11 for the ‘darshan’ of Lord Ram at the newly constructed temple. Rajpal Singh Balyan, the leader of the RLD legislative party, confirmed that most RLD MLAs will participate in the pilgrimage. Similarly, Umashankar Singh, BSP legislature party leader, expressed the party’s acceptance of the invitation.
