Traffic has been completely disrupted for 5 hours due to the derailment of a goods train engaged in maintenance work at Mohammadpur yard between Darbhanga-Sitamarhi railway section of Bihar under Samastipur Railway Division of East Central Railway. Also, traffic is likely to remain disrupted for the next three hours. Passengers are facing problems due to traffic disruption.
Manish Sharma, Additional Divisional Manager of Samastipur Railway Division, said that on the Darbhanga-Sitamarhi railway section, the work of dropping ballast was being done on both sides of the rail track between Mohammadpur and Kamtaul station. In the same sequence, three bogies of the goods train carrying ballast going to Sitamarhi derailed, due to which traffic on the Darbhanga-Sitamarhi railway section from both the up and down sides was completely disrupted.

17005 Hyderabad-Raxaul Express was partially terminated at Thalwara.
05218 Raxaul-Darbhanga DEMU special was partially terminated at Jogiara.
Partial termination of 05596 Muzaffarpur-Samastipur special was done at Parsauni.
Partial termination of 05266 Patliputra-Darbhanga special was done at Sitamarhi.
During the maintenance work in Mohammadpur yard between Darbhanga-Sitamarhi section of Samastipur division, the operation of trains was disrupted due to diversion of three empty wagons of goods train near km 48/9-10 at 15.15 hrs on Saturday. Divisional Railway Manager has reached the accident spot along with the accident relief vehicle.
