Bihar: About 17 cartons of liquor hidden inside a pond have been recovered in Harpur village of Vaishali district of Bihar. Police station in-charge Vaishali Suresh Prasad Chaudhary said, “FIR will be registered in the case and further action will be taken.” According to the police, special liquor was brought from Haryana to celebrate Holi.
Choudhary said, “In view of Holi, the liquor mafia has become active in Vaishali district and they are adopting various tactics to throw dust in the eyes of the police. But the Excise Department team has found lakhs of rupees hidden in fish ponds. Succeeded in recovering alcohol.”
A pond located in Harpur village of Mahua police station area so that it could be consumed during Holi, but the excise department team raided it and found 17 cartons of foreign liquor.
Although no businessman has been arrested in this operation, the Excise Department has foiled the plans of the liquor mafia. “More than 150 liters of liquor have been seized and the seized liquor is made in Haryana, on which ‘Holi Special’ is written.
