New Delhi: In a bizarre incident, a woman and her friend visited Madras Coffee House in Connaught Place, New Delhi, on March 7 for lunch. They ordered a plain dosa, but were disappointed when they discovered several black spots on the dosa, which turned out to be cockroaches, according to reports.

The woman, recognised as, Ishani visited the eatery with her friend and ordered a plain dosa. However, to much of their surprise, both of them discovered that their dosa was indeed not plain and had not one but eight cockroaches. Immediately springing into action, Ishani asked her friend to record a video of the cockroach-infested dosa. However, the restaurant staff took their plate away before the recording could be completed.

Ishani submitted the video to media channel, that later posted it on social media, Ishani was also prompt in calling the police and filing a complaint against the restaurant. The police asserted her that they would look into the matter. “Thanks for such huge support. Let’s get the authorities out of their offices and on field to do some investigation. The licenses have still not been submitted, it’s been a week and yet, no action! Who can we rely on and why is there a system in place? Just to exist?” Ishani wrote on social media. After the incident, the person who manages the restaurant operations said, “It is unfortunate that this incident occurred at our restaurant. We apologise for the inconvenience and the lapses.”

The video was shared on Instagram and has created quite a stir online with over three lakh views and counting. “Pay expensive bills just to get food poisoning,” one social media user wrote. “And we are questioning street vendors about hygiene,” another social media user wrote. “Apologised?!! Their licence needs to taken away!” yet another comment read.
