The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its candidates for the forthcoming Assembly by-elections across various states, including Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, and West Bengal. Notably, the BJP has granted tickets to all six disqualified MLAs, who had previously defected from the Congress to join the BJP, to contest in the Himachal Pradesh assembly by-elections.

BJP Nominates Former Congress MLAs for Himachal Assembly Bypolls. These by-elections hold significance as they encompass 26 Assembly seats across 13 states, with six constituencies in Himachal Pradesh witnessing disqualification of Congress MLAs due to rebellion. Scheduled to coincide with the Lok Sabha elections commencing on April 19, these bypolls mark a crucial electoral juncture.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, in a press conference held in New Delhi on March 16, outlined the scope of the upcoming by-elections, spanning states including Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
