As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gears up for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, sources reveal strategic seat allocation plans for its allies in various states. The BJP is anticipated to designate six seats to its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners in Uttar Pradesh, three in Assam, and one in Jharkhand. However, discussions on finalizing seat-sharing formulas for Bihar and Maharashtra are still pending, according to informed sources.

Late-Night CEC Meeting
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting that commenced at 11:30 pm on Thursday and extended until 4 am on Friday. The focus was on finalizing the initial list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls, expected to take place in April-May.

Allotment in Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh, the Apna Dal (Soneylal) and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) may secure two seats each, while one seat each is likely for the NISHAD party and Om Prakash Rajbhar-led Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP).

Allocation in Assam and Jharkhand
The BJP may allocate two seats to Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and one seat to United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) in Assam. In Jharkhand, one seat may be reserved for the NDA ally All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU).

Pending Talks for Bihar and Maharashtra

Discussions on seat-sharing formulas with allies like JDU, LJP, Rashtriya Lok Morcha, and Hindustani Awam Morcha in Bihar, as well as talks with factions in Maharashtra, are yet to be initiated.

Prospects in Haryana
Haryana BJP sources indicate that the party could contest elections on all 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

The late-night meeting saw attendance from BJP president JP Nadda, Union ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, along with leaders from various states.
