A blast occurred during a Ram Navami procession in Murshidabad, West Bengal, resulting in one person sustaining injuries. Police are investigating the incident to ascertain the cause of the blast.
Clashes erupted during the Ram Navami procession in Murshidabad’s Shaktipur area, leading to several injuries as participants were targeted with stone pelting.
Reports indicate that the blast during the procession injured a woman, who is currently receiving treatment at Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital.
An official statement from the police confirmed the incident, stating, “The blast occurred on Wednesday evening, injuring a woman. Our investigation is ongoing to determine the nature of the explosion.”
Additionally, the BJP alleged that stones were thrown at another Ram Navami procession in the Rejinagar area, criticizing the state police for failing to maintain law and order. However, the police have not commented on this allegation.
In response, the TMC accused the BJP of inciting violence ahead of the elections, condemning such acts and attributing them to the BJP’s agenda.
Meanwhile, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) organized numerous programs across the state, emphasizing the importance of Hindu unity and faith in Lord Ram.
Both TMC and BJP leaders utilized the occasion to connect with voters ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
