In a significant breakthrough, security forces have uncovered a clandestine Naxal weapons workshop and confiscated a cache of homemade firearms in Odisha’s Koraput district. The operation, executed near the Sunki area in Koraput, marks a crucial victory in the ongoing battle against Naxal insurgency in the region.
Promptly responding to specific intelligence provided by field operatives, an Anti-Naxalite Deployment (ADP) team swiftly mobilized for action under the leadership of Inspector Sandeep Kerketta. During patrol near Alasi village, the team encountered suspicious individuals who evaded capture, fleeing towards the Andhra border upon sensing the presence of security forces.
Undeterred by the escape, the security forces launched an extensive search operation, resulting in the seizure of a significant arsenal. Recovered items included a Bharmar Gun (BML), mobile phone with JIO SIM, hand blower, trigger mechanism, tools, and various other materials essential for weapon production.
The operation pinpointed Alasi village under Sunki police station in Koraput district as the site of the recovery. The recovered items were promptly transported to Company Operating Base (COB) Sunki for further processing and investigation.
The Border Security Force (BSF) lauded the bravery and dedication of Inspector Sandeep Kerketta and the entire team involved in the successful operation. This decisive action underscores the relentless commitment of security forces to thwart Naxal activities and ensure peace and security in the region.
