Cabinet Minister Premchand Aggarwal allegedly thrashed the man after an argument

Dehradun: Cabinet Minister Premchand Aggarwal got into a dispute with local youth Surendra Singh Negi, resident of Shivajinagar Rishikesh, on Haridwar Road on Tuesday afternoon over some issue. The dispute increased so much that the minister along with his security personnel thrashed the youth on the road. After which the police took the youth into custody.

Due to traffic, the minister’s car stopped there

According to the developments, cabinet minister Premchand Agarwal, who was returning from a program organized at Shri Bharat Mandir, had a dispute with a young man near Haridwar Road Koyal Grant at around 2:00 pm on Tuesday afternoon. During this, due to traffic, the minister’s car stopped there.

Minister Aggarwal got into an altercation with youth Shivaji Nagar Rishikesh resident Surendra Singh Negi and one of his companions. After the altercation, the security personnel of the minister assaulted the youth. After which the minister and his other staff members thrashed the young man on the road itself. Later the youth was taken into custody by the police.

What did the victim say?

On the other hand, the victim Surendra Negi in a video posted on Facebook accused the minister and his staff of attacking him without any provocation. In one of the clips, Negi alleged that he could not understand why he was abused and attacked by the minister and his men. He said, “We were stuck in a traffic jam and I passed by his car without knowing who was sitting in it. He abused me and when I protested, he and his men got down from their car and started thrashing me.”

However, Minister Premchand Aggarwal has said in his clarification that the person who was thrashed was abusing him and attacked the minister and tore his kurta. The person who was thrashed has been identified as Surendra Singh Negi. In a video posted on Facebook, Negi accused the minister and his staff of assaulting him without any provocation. The minister said that an FIR will also be lodged in this matter as it is an attack on the government machinery.
