Center issues ordinance on transfer-posting rights of officers in Delhi, AAP government raises questions

The Central Government has issued an ordinance regarding the power of transfer-posting of officers in Delhi. These ordinances have been brought out after the decision of the Supreme Court, in this ordinance, the rights of the Lieutenant Governor as well as the Delhi government have been mentioned in the transfer and posting of officers. It is believed that the Center has once again given back the lost power to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

Through this ordinance, the central government will set up the National Capital Civil Services Authority, which will do transfer-posting and vigilance work in Delhi. It will have three members, in which apart from the Chief Minister of Delhi, the Chief Secretary and the Home Secretary will be there. Under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, this committee will decide the transfer and posting of officers on the basis of majority. But the final decision will be of the Lieutenant Governor.

AAP government targeted the center

Delhi government minister Atishi has said on the ordinance that the central government is scared of Arvind Kejriwal, it is clear from the ordinance that it is contempt of the Supreme Court. The government should have the power to take decisions, this is the respect of democracy. Fearing to give power to Arvind Kejriwal, the central government has brought an ordinance.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had already expressed apprehension regarding the ordinance. He had tweeted that why the Lieutenant Governor is not obeying the orders of the court? Why didn’t you sign the file of the service secretary for two days? It is being said that the Center is going to reverse the order of the Supreme Court by bringing an ordinance next week? Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal questioned in his tweet, “Is the central government plotting to overturn the court order? Is the Lieutenant Governor waiting for the ordinance, that’s why not signing the file?

The Supreme Court had told the Delhi government the boss

Let us tell you that earlier on May 11, the Supreme Court, giving a unanimous verdict, had said that the Delhi government has legislative and executive powers in relation to services. The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of the Delhi government on the dispute regarding the right of transfer-posting of officers in Delhi. The Supreme Court said that the posting and transfer of officers will be with the Delhi government.
