The tragedy unfolded on the night of March 6 at the porta cabin school for girls in Chintakonta village under the jurisdiction of Awapalli police station.

Four-Year-Old Girl Killed in Residential School Fire. The victim, not a student of the school herself, was residing with her elder sister, a student of the institution, for the past few days. All 380 students present in the facility were safely evacuated by porta cabin staff and local villagers.
