The tragedy unfolded on the night of March 6 at the porta cabin school for girls in Chintakonta village under the jurisdiction of Awapalli police station.

All 380 students present in the facility were safely evacuated by porta cabin staff and local villagers. Unfortunately, it was later discovered that the younger sister of a student was missing, and she succumbed to burn injuries caused by the fire.
