30-year-old Mosque cleric beaten to death by masked men in Ajmer, Rajasthan

Rajasthan: On Sunday, an officials said that a 30-year-old cleric of a mosque was allegedly beaten to death by a group of three masked on men in Ajmer Rajasthan. They said that a case has been lodged in the matter and efforts are on to identify and nab the accused.

Rajasthan: On Sunday, an officials said that a 30-year-old cleric of a mosque was allegedly beaten to death by a group of three masked on men in Ajmer Rajasthan. They said that a case has been lodged in the matter and efforts are on to identify and nab the accused.

According to the police, the incident took place on Saturday at around 2 pm, when the suspects allegedly entered the mosque located in Kanchan Nagar under the jurisdiction of Ramganj police station and attacked Maulvi Mohammad Tahir with sticks.Children were present inside the mosque Tahir died tragically on the spot.

According to the police report, six children were present inside the mosque at the time of the incident. The trio allegedly threatened the children not to tell anyone about the incident and seized their mobile phones to prevent them from telling anyone or seeking help.

Officials said that after the accused fled, the children came out of the mosque and told others about the incident. According to the police, Tahir used to teach children at the mosque. SHO Ramganj Ravindra Singh said that body of Tahir was handed over to his family after reaching Ajmer from Uttar Pradesh.

The SHO further said that a case has been registered against unidentified persons in the matter under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He added that no arrest has been made in this case so far and efforts are on to identify and arrest the accused. Further investigation is underway.
