Congress formed screening committee for four states

In view of the assembly elections, the Congress has declared a screening committee. Gaurav Gogoi has been made the chairman of the Rajasthan Screening Committee. While Jitendra Singh has been appointed as the chairman of the screening committee in Madhya Pradesh.

Assembly Elections 2023: The Congress has stepped up preparations for the upcoming assembly elections. In this sequence, the party has formed a screening committee on Wednesday for the Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana assembly elections. In which many senior leaders of the party have been given place.

According to a press release issued by the party’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the proposal to set up screening committees for the poll-bound states.

According to information received from the party, Gaurav Gogoi, party MP for Rajasthan, Jitendra Singh, general secretary for Madhya Pradesh, Ajay Maken for Chhattisgarh and K Muraleedharan, Congress MP for Telangana, have been appointed as the chairman of the committee.

Rajasthan’s responsibility to Gaurav Gogoi

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi will head the screening committee for the Rajasthan assembly elections and Ganesh Godial and Abhishek Dutt will be its members. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, State Congress Committee President Govind Singh Dotasara and some other leaders will be ex-officio members of this committee.

Jitendra Singh appointed as screening committee chairman in Madhya Pradesh

In view of the assembly elections to be held in the neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh, Jitendra Singh has been appointed as the screening committee chairman. While Ajay Kumar Lallu and Saptagiri Ulaka have been appointed as members of the committee.

Chairman of Ajay Maken Screening Committee in Chhattisgarh

Ajay Maken has been appointed as the screening committee chairman in Chhattisgarh. Ajay Maken did not have any major responsibility in the party after being removed from the post in charge of Rajasthan. Dr. L. Hanumanthaiah and Netta D’Souza have been appointed as members of the committee. Ex-officio members in Chhattisgarh include PCC Chief Deepak Baij, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, AICC General Secretary in-charge Kumari Selja, Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo and AICC in-charge secretary of the state.

Baba Siddiqui and Mevani members in Telangana

In Telangana, the committee headed by Muraleedharan has Baba Siddiqui and Jignesh Mevani as its members, while Pradesh Congress Committee President Revanth Reddy and some other leaders will be its ex-officio members. The screening committee sends the names of some potential candidates for each seat to the Central Election Committee of the party, where the final seal is placed on the name of the candidate.
