Congress Leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam Advocates Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as PM Candidate for 2024

Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam has reiterated his call for naming Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as the prime ministerial candidate for the Congress in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Krishnam emphasized that the Congress, lacking an identity without the Gandhi family, should leverage Priyanka Gandhi’s popularity to pose a formidable challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The entire Opposition & INDIA alliance has no other leader more popular than Priyanka Gandhi. If Cong wants to give a tough fight to Narendra Modi, then Priyanka Gandhi should be made the PM candidate,” Krishnam stated.

This is not the first time Krishnam has advocated for Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as the prime ministerial candidate. In May, he expressed that there is no leader more “popular, acceptable, and credible” than her. Krishnam urged opposition parties to declare Priyanka Gandhi as the PM candidate to enhance their chances of defeating PM Modi in the 2024 elections.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra formally joined active politics in January 2019 and was appointed as the Congress general secretary for eastern Uttar Pradesh. Although there were speculations about her contesting the general election against PM Modi from Varanasi, the Congress eventually fielded Ajay Rai. Currently, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra serves as the AICC general secretary.
