Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has assured the protesting wrestlers that the ongoing investigation regarding former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh will be completed soon.

Wrestlers Protest: Wrestlers have taken a stand against Brij Bhushan Singh and are constantly demanding his arrest. Meanwhile, a six-hour marathon meeting between Union Minister Anurag Thakur and wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia went on on Wednesday. This meeting took place at Anurag’s house. The government sought time from the wrestlers till June 15 and said that let the investigation be completed. Action will also be taken. But till then there will be no demonstration. The wrestlers have agreed. If action is not taken on Brij Bhushan, he will consider the movement again.

The Sports Minister further said, “The wrestlers have demanded that all FIRs against them should be withdrawn. The wrestlers also requested that Brij Bhushan Singh, who has completed three terms, and his colleagues should not be re-elected. Wrestlers will not protest before June 15.

In the issues discussed, it has been said that after completing the investigation of the allegations, the charge sheet should be given by June 15 and elections should be held by June 30. An Internal Complaints Committee should be formed, which should be headed by a woman. When WFI elections are held, good office bearers should be elected, for that opinion should be taken from the players.
