A man has been arrested for reportedly assaulting a girl with a knife in New Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar area, citing mockery directed towards him, as stated by the police on Sunday (March 24).

Identified as Aman, a local resident who works as a cook in a nearby paying guest facility, the accused’s actions were captured in a video that surfaced on social media, swiftly gaining viral attention. The incident occurred on March 22, resulting in minor injuries to the victim, who fortunately is reported to be in stable condition.
The victim, a resident of Jaffrabad, frequents a local library for her studies, according to police reports.
During interrogation, the accused admitted to reacting impulsively to what he perceived as mockery from the victim. His response led to him grabbing a knife from a nearby vegetable vendor and attacking her.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
