UP: 13-year-old dalit girl, out to defecate, set on fire in village under Haraiya police station area

Uttar Pradesh: On Saturday, an official said that a 13-year-old Dalit girl was burnt to death while she was out to defecate in a village under Haraiya police station area of Uttar Pradesh. After receiving information about this incident local people reached on the spot.

Official said that the Police are still trying to find out how and why she was set on fire. Giving details about this incident local, Additional Superintendent of Police Yogesh Kumar said that the girl had gone to a field near her village to defecate on Friday evening.

The SP further said that an hour when she did not return her home, her family started looking for her. Meanwhile, some villagers informed them that a nearby field had caught fire.

Police also said that When they reached the field, they found the girl dead. official said that her charred body has been sent for post-mortem. Police are investigating the matter.
