There has been an explosion once again in Pakistan on Sunday. At least five people were injured in the bomb blast in Quetta Police Line area. Recently, there was a horrific suicide attack in Peshawar as well, in which more than 100 people lost their lives.

Top Pakistani cricketers, including captain Babar Azam and Shahid Afridi, were taken to the dressing room by security after Sunday’s terror attack a few miles from the Nawab Akbar Bugti Stadium. These players were playing an exhibition match of Pakistan Super League (PSL), which was stopped for some time after the blast.

The blast took place in Police Lines area injuring five people. A senior police officer said that the rescue operation has been completed and the injured have been shifted to the hospital. Zeeshan Ahmed, who was involved in the rescue operation after the blast, told the local website ‘The Dawn’ that those injured in the blast have been admitted to the nearby civil hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. He said that soon after the blast, emergency and police teams reached the spot and the entire area has been sealed.

The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement on Sunday, which said security officials were targeted. An exhibition match between PSL team Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi was organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The police officer said, “As soon as the blast happened, the match was stopped as a precautionary measure and the players were taken to the dressing room for some time.” Later the match was restored.” The ground was packed for the match.
