Delhi liquor policy scam case: Delhi court to hear Manish Sisodia bail plea today

New Delhi: On Tuesday, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court will hear the bail plea of ​​former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia . Sisodia is in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of excise policy. Sisodia was produced in the court on Monday, Sisodia is in ED remand till March 22.

The court on Monday extended the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sisodia for 14 days in the Delhi Excise Policy case. Special Judge MK Nagpal on Monday extended Sisodia’s judicial custody till April 3, 2023. The bail plea in the matter will be heard today, March 21, 2023.

Sisodia, in his bail plea to a trial court, said that no meaningful purpose would be served by keeping him in custody, as all the seizures have already been made. Sisodia also said that he has joined the investigation when called by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The other accused arrested in this case have already got bail.

Explain that Sisodia was recently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Excise Policy of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD).

The Rouse Avenue court had earlier sent Sisodia to CBI remand, directing that the interrogation of the accused during the remand period would be conducted at a place with CCTV coverage as per the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court and the said footage would be preserved by the CBI. Sisodia was arrested by the CBI and ED in the ongoing investigation of a case related to alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy of the GNCTD.

As Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai wrapped up his speech on the second day of the budget session in the Delhi Assembly on Monday, an Aam Aadmi Party MLA raised the issue of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s arrest. The AAP MLA said that BJP people insulted Babasaheb Ambedkar in a school in Rohini Sector-18 on Sunday.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who named the school after Babasaheb, was jailed.Meanwhile, AAP MLAs took out placards and came to the well and started shouting slogans. Slogans of ‘Narendra Modi Murdabad’ started being raised in the House. Seeing the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, the BJP MLAs also opened a front and started raising slogans of ‘corrupt Kejriwal resign’.

On this, Assembly Speaker Ramnivas Goyal adjourned the House for the first half an hour. When the uproar did not stop even after half an hour, he adjourned the proceedings of the House till 11 am on Tuesday, March 21.
