In a tragic turn of events, a 32-year-old restaurant owner, Sanjay Singh, met his demise in a shooting incident in the New Usmanpur area of northeast Delhi. Singh, who was embroiled in a murder case, fell victim to unidentified assailants while returning home from his restaurant during the early hours of Wednesday.
Singh was attacked near his residence, and his grievously injured form was discovered by a friend who promptly notified Singh’s younger brother, Nitin, who operates a nearby dairy. Nitin rushed to the scene, finding Singh in a critical state, lying in a pool of blood near Hanuman Mandir Wali Gali service road.
Despite efforts to save him, Singh succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital. The severity of the attack was evident from the multiple wounds he sustained, including to his head, shoulder, elbow, and abdomen.
Authorities recovered significant evidence from the crime scene, including seven empty bullet shells, four pieces of lead, and one live round of 7.65 mm ammunition, indicating the intensity of the assault.
Singh’s troubled history, marked by his involvement in the murder case of a local resident named Ravinder, adds layers of complexity to the situation. Both Singh and Ravinder were residents of the same locality.
As the police delve deeper into the matter, efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Surveillance footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being meticulously examined as part of the ongoing investigation, leaving no stone unturned in pursuit of justice.
