Doordarshan’s famous news anchor Gitanjali Iyer passed away

Gitanjali was one of the first English anchors on Doordarshan. He anchored on Doordarshan for more than 30 years and established many records in the field of journalism. He was awarded the best anchor award four times.

Doordarshan’s well-known anchor Gitanjali Iyer passed away on Wednesday, June 7.Gitanjali Iyer, who was famous for her unique hairstyle. He joined Doordarshan in 1971 as an English news anchor. In his 30-year career, he has been awarded ‘Best Anchor’ four times.

Gitanjali Iyer did her undergraduate degree in English. After this he studied at Loreto College, Kolkata. Geetanjali also did a diploma from the National School of Drama. Geetanjali Iyer was once a star of the TV news industry. This was the era before cable. At that time, Doordarshan used to be the only means of knowing the news of the world.

After a successful career as a news anchor in Doordarshan, Gitanjali entered the world of corporate communication and marketing. She has also been an advisor to industry association CII. He also worked in the serial ‘Khandaan’.

Gitanjali Iyer has two children (a son and a daughter). Both live abroad. The funeral will take place after both of them reach India. Please tell that Iyer was born on 29 January 1947. She was one of the celebrity anchors of Doordarshan. Apart from anchoring, she was actively seen in the advertising industry. Gitanjali worked for many brands of that time.
