FIH Pro League 2023: Indian hockey team defeats Great Britain 4-2 in shootout

New Delhi: The Indian men hockey team won the shootout in the FIH Pro League. The Indian team defeated Great Britain 4-2 in this match played in London. Earlier in the stipulated time, there was a tough fight between the two teams and the score became equal to 4-4.

New Delhi: The Indian men hockey team won the shootout in the FIH Pro League. The Indian team defeated Great Britain 4-2 in this match played in London. Earlier in the stipulated time, there was a tough fight between the two teams and the score became equal to 4-4.

Goalkeeper Krishna Bahadur Pathak played an important role in helping the Indian team win. He thwarted the attack of the opposition team by saving twice. For the Indian team, Manpreet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Lalit Upadhyay and Abhishek did a great job for Team India by scoring goals.

India and Great Britain were evenly matched till the stipulated time, but in the shootout, India won because of the goalkeeper. The goalkeeper of Great Britain failed to stop the shots of the Indian players and eventually India won. The remaining matches of India are against the teams of Netherlands and Argentina.

India lost a lot of penalty corners but Britain’s team could not roam the occasions. Immediately after the beginning of the last quarter, Harmanpreet’s effort was stopped by the ship. Then Ward brought his team to equal my team from the outdoor goal in the 47th minute. In the last quarter, Britain was dominated, but in the 50th minute Abhishek contributed 4-3 to India from the plain goal in the counter-attack.

But the ward was successful in bringing his fourth goal on equal. In the shootout, Manpreet Singh, Harmanpreet, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay and Abhishek scored goals for India. In the five attempts for Britain, the only goal will be done by Kalanan, while the welfare of the welfare, Shipella and Roops missed.
