The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has questioned former Haryana Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda as part of an ongoing money laundering investigation related to alleged irregularities in land acquisition in Manesar between 2004 and 2007. The ED recorded the statement of the 76-year-old politician under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda Questioned by ED in Land Acquisition Money Laundering Case. The investigation focuses on the “illegal” acquisition of land in Haryana’s Manesar, allegedly involving the collusion of senior government officials and bureaucrats. Numerous farmers and landowners claim to have been defrauded of approximately ₹1,500 crore in this land acquisition case.
ED Questions Former Haryana CM in Money Laundering Case. The ED initiated the money laundering case in September 2016 based on a First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Haryana Police. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also independently investigating the case. The questioning of Bhupinder Singh Hooda is part of the broader efforts to address allegations of corruption and irregularities in the land acquisition process during the specified period.
