Former Karnataka cricketer Hoysala dies due to heart attack on the field at age 34

Karnataka: Former Karnataka cricketer 34-year-old K Hoysala died a fatal heart attack after a match against Tamil Nadu in the South Zone IA & AD tournament here at the RSI grounds in Bengaluru on Friday.

After Karnataka’s victory, while celebrating with the team, Hoysala fell unconscious on the field due to severe chest pain. He was administered CPR on the spot and was then rushed to the nearby Bowring Hospital but doctors declared him brought dead.

After the news of Hoysala’s sudden demise has cast a pall of grief over the cricketing community, with players, fans, and officials mourning the loss of the talented cricketer. A middle-order batter and bowler, Hoysala represented the Karnataka team in the under-25 category. He also played in the Karnataka Premier League.

According to the Dean of Bowring Hospital and Atal Bihari Medical College, Dr. Manoj Kumar, the cricketer was brought in dead and are awaiting the report after the postmortem. He said,”Hoysala was brought in dead, mostly due to a heart attack. We have completed the postmortem and are awaiting the report.”
