Ghaziabad: In yet another tragic incident, a 27-year-old man beaten to death for objecting to a couple kissing while driving scooty nearby residential area in Sahibabad. Injured accountant Vinay alias Virat (27) dies in the early hours of Monday after a dispute with a scooty-riding youth in the society premises outside Lala Lajpat Rai College in Sahibabad. After this, the family members were in bad condition by crying. The dead body reached home after postmortem in the afternoon. The family has sought help from the administration.
Bunty, a resident of Lajpat Nagar, told that at around one o’clock on Saturday afternoon, he had gone to the shop near LR College to buy goods. There a young man named Manish was driving a scooty with a girl in an objectionable condition. On this, Virat alias Vinay Mishra, who lives in the society premises, forbade him to do so, on which Manish got enraged and he called his other colleagues over the phone.
It is alleged that angry Manish along with other colleagues attacked Virat with sticks. When Bunty along with the people around ran to save the injured, the accused attacked them and ran away. The condition of the injured Virat was critical. Where he died in GTB Hospital in Delhi in the early hours of Monday.
Father Sudama told that Vinay was a bookkeeper with the middleman in Sahibabad vegetable market and he used to manage the household expenses. ACP Sahibabad Bhaskar Verma says that on the basis of the complaint, a case was registered against Manish, Manish, Gaurav, Vipul Kasana, Pankaj and Akash and arrested them. All possible help will be given to the family.
Sahibabad police under Indian Penal Code sections 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 307 (attempt to murder), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 149 (offence created by unlawful assembly). All six suspects involved in the matter have been arrested.
“All six suspects involved in the assault were arrested. The Indian Penal Code section for an attempt to murder will now be converted to section 302 (murder),” said Bhaskar Verma, assistant commissioner of police (Sahibabad).
The suspects were identified as Manish Kumar, Manish Yadav, Gaurav Kasana, Akash Kumar, Pankaj Singh and Vipul Kumar.
