Panaji: Suchana Seth, the CEO of an AI start-up, faces legal action as the Goa Police submit a chargesheet, accusing her of murdering her four-year-old son at an apartment in Goa. Seth, 39, was apprehended from Chitradurga, Karnataka, on January 7 while transporting her son’s body in a taxi.
Seth left Goa on January 6 under suspicion of committing the heinous act at her Candolim apartment before fleeing. The investigation, led by Calangute police, culminated in a 642-page chargesheet filed in the Goa Children’s Court, detailing the circumstances of the child’s demise.
The chargesheet outlines the child’s cause of death as shock and respiratory asphyxia due to strangulation. Seth faces charges under IPC Sections 302 (murder), 201 (concealing evidence), and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act. The police have enlisted 59 witnesses and included statements from Seth’s husband, who alleges she defied court orders hindering his access to their son.
Scheduled for June 14, 2024, the case awaits formal charges against Seth, who is currently in judicial custody in Goa. Additional evidence, including a handwritten note confirmed by experts to be Seth’s, further complicates the tragic saga.
