The latest action took place in Kutch, where several structures, including two dargahs named Vadapir and Haji Ibrahim Pir, were razed to the ground in the coastal area of Abdasa.

Gujarat Government Intensifies Encroachment Removal Campaign. The Gujarat government has taken a stern stance against the illegal construction of dargahs, leading to the recent removal of encroachments at Bhangoriwandh in Kutch. This ongoing crackdown has been targeting structures unlawfully occupying government land, reinforcing the state’s commitment to reclaim public spaces.

Earlier, in Junagadh, the administration undertook decisive action against a dargah located at Majwadi Gate. The construction of this dargah, which began decades ago near Majwadi Darwaza, had expanded over time, allegedly encroaching on government land in the middle of the road. Despite a previous attempt in June 2023, the recent operation successfully demolished the illegal dargah, emphasizing the authorities’ determination to address such encroachments.
