Himachal Pradesh : 400 people died during rain-related disaster in hilly state, says state Govt

New Delhi: 400 people have died and over 400 have been injured in rain-related disasters since the onset of monsoon on June twenty four, Himachal Pradesh Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi said on Friday.

Jagat Singh Negi further said that so far more than 2,500 houses have been completely damaged and more than 11,000 houses have been partially damaged. He said that many people have also lost their lands and we have no pool for land allotment at most places in the state.

“We will have to demand amendment in the law as the Forest Rights Act is applicable in most places in the state. We will talk to the central government in this regard,” he added.

Speaking on the rumor ‘One Nation One Election’ being brought in the special monsoon session called by the Central Government, Jagat Singh Negi said that Lok Sabha elections are very close and in such a situation BJP is making such statements. Distract public attention from real issues. “India is already a country where BJP is trying to take political advantage by raising such issues.”

Jagat Singh Negi said, “I want to ask whether they are trying to destabilize the elected governments in the country? This entire process will take about 6 to 7 months for the election process to be completed. This will also have an impact on the financial state of the country as Crores of rupees would be spent on it.”

On being asked about INDIA Alliance parties getting together, he said that this is a good sign to end the communal and dividing forces in the country. He said that it is very good they have started coming together and a common platform and programme has been made right from sharing of seats to doing election rallies.
