Himachal Pradesh: In Himachal Pradesh, the number of people who died due to disaster is increasing every day. With three new deaths on Thursday, the death toll in the state has gone up to 330. Due to increasing incidents of landslides in the state, 1957 houses have been destroyed and 9344 houses have suffered partial damage. Meanwhile, 293 shops and 4072 gaushalas have collapsed in the flood water.

Shimla: Rain mayhem in Himachal Pradesh, the death toll due to disaster is increasing every day. With three new deaths on Thursday, the death toll in the state has gone up to 330. At the same time, 875 roads are still closed due to heavy rains and landslides. Speaking on the ongoing relief and rescue operations in Fatehpur sub-division of Kangra district, Deputy Commissioner, Kangra, Nipun Jindal, told media, “A total of 800 trapped civilians were rescued on August 15. Further rescue operations are underway with the help of NDRF, the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force. All necessary arrangements have been made for those rescued so far. Relief camps have also been set up for them.”

Due to increasing incidents of landslides in the state, 1957 houses have been destroyed and 9344 houses have suffered partial damage. Meanwhile, 293 shops and 4072 gaushalas have collapsed in the flood water.

In the rains that have been going on for two months, 113 landslide incidents have occurred in the state, which has become a major cause of loss of life and property. During the monsoon, incidents of cloudburst have occurred 58 times in five districts of the state.

Due to this, a loss of Rs 7659 crore has been caused to the movable and immovable property. Jal Shakti Department has suffered a loss of Rs 1842 crore, Public Works Department has suffered a loss of Rs 2656 crore, State Electricity Board 1505 crore, Horticulture Department 144 crore, Agriculture Department 256 crore, Rural Development Department 369 crore And the education department has suffered a loss of Rs 118 crore.

The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of normal monsoon on Friday. Meanwhile, no warning of heavy rain has been issued anywhere. During the last 24 hours, 60 mm of rain has been recorded in Mandi, 24 in Nagrota and 23 mm in Dalhousie. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rains from August 19 to August 25.

Normal life in Himachal has been severely affected since the onset of monsoon. The weather is repeatedly creating hurdles in the relief and rescue operations. 650 roads are still closed due to heavy rains and landslides. Due to this, 1800 routes of the Transport Corporation have been affected.

Maximum 319 roads in Mandi district, 119 in Shimla, 66 in Solan, 73 in Kullu are still closed for traffic movement. The same 285 schemes of 1135 transformer water are stalled. Maximum 673 transformers in Mandi and 314 transformers in Shimla are facing the problem of power cuts.
