Lucknow: A heart wrenching video of a leopard pouncing on a man in a deadly attack in an Uttar Pradesh village has left social media users horrified. The incident, which was recorded on camera by locals, occurred in the Hatwa village of Siddharthnagar district.
Panic ensued as the villagers learnt that the leopard was hiding in one of the houses. People gathered in large numbers, prepared with sticks in order to prevent a possible mishap – but in vain.
The leopard, all of a sudden, pounced on a man in what was nothing but a jaw-dropping moment and bit his leg.
Loud screams were echoed in the viral video as people hit the leopard with sticks while the man attempted to free his leg. There was utter chaos as the leopard attempted to escape and ran towards what appeared to be his previous hiding spot.
Nine people were injured in the attack who were treated at a local hospital.
Forest officials have been informed about the incident as a mission to rescue the leopard is currently underway.
