IMD predicts rain occur in 26 states including Delhi-NCR today, high alert in Maharashtra-Gujarat

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department predicts may be moderate rainfall in Delhi-NCR, sky will be generally cloudy today. The IMD has predicted very heavy rainfall at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on July 28.

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department predicts may be moderate rainfall in Delhi-NCR, sky will be generally cloudy today. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), on July 28, the maximum temperature in Delhi can be 34 degree Celsius and people will get relief from the humid heat. On July 27, the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 34.8 degree Celsius.

The IMD has predicted very heavy rainfall at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on July 28. Orange Alert has been issued for very heavy rains in East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Telangana today.

Today Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat, Coastal And heavy rain is expected at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka. IMD has predicted rain with lightning and gusty wind (wind speed 30-40 kmph) at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands today.

On the other hand, there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places in West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana. IMD has also expressed the possibility of strong thunderstorms in Saurashtra and Kutch areas of Gujarat.

According to IMD, a low pressure area is present over interior Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh. The Monsoon Trough is active and lies to the south of its normal position. It is very likely to move slowly northwards during next 2 days. At the same time, a Cyclonic Circulation is located at the lower troposphere level in and around Punjab. All these activities are expected to affect the weather in the next few days.
