India’s tit-for-tat move after protest in London by Khalistanis, Barricades removed outside UK high commission in Delhi

New Delhi: The security deployed outside the British High Commission at 2 Rajaji Marg in Delhi has been reduced. Barricades put up outside the house of British High Commissioner Alex Ellis were removed on Wednesday. What is the reason behind this, till now no information has been received from official sources. But it is also being linked to the demonstration of Khalistani supporters at the Indian High Commission in London.

Let us tell you that a group of protesters, waving Khalistani flags and raising pro-Khalistani slogans, tried to bring down the tricolor hoisted over the Indian High Commission in London on Sunday evening. India has strongly objected to this incident.

Expressing objection to the incident, India had demanded that all those involved in the incident should be arrested and cases should be prosecuted against them. Also, to prevent such incidents, security should be further strengthened. Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said that the need for adequate security arrangements was emphasized by summoning the UK official.

However, British officials condemned the incident, calling it “disgraceful” and “completely unacceptable”. London Mayor Sadiq Khan tweeted, “I condemn the violent disorder and vandalism at the Indian High Commission today. This type of behavior has no place in our city.”

The incident is being investigated. The London Metropolitan Police is investigating the incident and Scotland Yard was called. Police said in a statement that most of the crowd had dispersed before they arrived. One person has been arrested and investigation is on.
