A fresh controversy has emerged as an FIR was lodged against BJP’s Godda MP Nishikant Dubey, along with his wife and others, for purportedly orchestrating the fraudulent acquisition of a private medical college and hospital in Deoghar, Jharkhand.
The FIR, filed by Shiv Dutt Sharma with the Jasidih police station, accuses Dubey and his associates of unlawfully seizing control of the medical college and hospital through deceptive means. Sharma asserts that his institution was misappropriated via the Baba Baidyanath Medical Trust, linked to Dubey, in an auction where Sharma’s documents were allegedly manipulated.
Sharma claims to have taken a significant loan of Rs 93 crore for the establishment of the medical college and hospital. However, after failing to secure approval from the Medical Council of India, his financial predicament worsened as the loan was declared a non-performing asset by the bank. Allegations suggest that Dubey, promising assistance, instead colluded in auctioning the institution, with the trust associated with him emerging as the sole bidder.
In response to the FIR, Dubey vehemently denied any wrongdoing, stating that this marked the 44th case filed against him since the formation of the Congress and JMM government in Jharkhand. He reiterated his commitment to resign from politics if the allegations are proven, asserting that the acquisition of the medical college was conducted through lawful means, sanctioned by the DRT court and approved by the Jharkhand High Court.
The local police, acknowledging the seriousness of the allegations, have assured a thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain the authenticity of the claims. With the Paritran Medical College and Hospital standing as a symbol of controversy, authorities are tasked with unraveling the complexities surrounding its ownership and operational status.
