Gurdaspur, Punjab: In a decisive joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Special Task Force (STF) Amritsar intercepted and seized a significant consignment of narcotics in Gurdaspur’s Didhowal village. The operation, conducted on Thursday, successfully uncovered and confiscated approximately 3.432 Kg of suspected heroin from a house.
The vigilant troops, following a reliable input, executed a well-coordinated search operation around 5 pm. The seized narcotics were found wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, with a distinctive metal hook attached to the packet, according to a press release from the BSF.
This successful intervention marks another instance where the BSF and STF, Amritsar, collaborated effectively to thwart an attempt at smuggling narcotics across the border. The joint efforts of the security forces have been instrumental in curbing illicit activities and maintaining the region’s security.
In a related development, an earlier joint operation by the BSF and Punjab Police yielded the recovery of a broken Pakistani drone from a farming field in Tarn Taran district. The drone, intercepted on January 29, 2024, during night hours, was promptly cordoned off by vigilant BSF troops near Village Dal, Tarn Taran.
