Karnataka Assembly polls 2023: Congress releases first list of 124 candidates

New Delhi: On Saturday, Congress has released the first list for the Karnataka assembly elections 2023. Congress has announced the names of 124 candidates. The names of former CM Siddaramaiah and senior leader DK Shivakumar are also included in the first list.

New Delhi: On Saturday, Congress has released the first list for the Karnataka assembly elections 2023. Congress has announced the names of 124 candidates. The names of former CM Siddaramaiah and senior leader DK Shivakumar are also included in the first list. The Congress has fielded former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah from Varuna assembly seat and state Congress chief Shivakumar from Kanakpura.




Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s son Priyank is also named. He will contest from Chitapur. Apart from this, MB Patil has got a Congress ticket from Bableswar, Dinesh Gundurao from Gandhinagar, MLC Puttanna who joined the Congress except BJP from Rajajinagar and former Union Minister KH Muniyappa from Devanahalli.

At the same time, the Election Commission may announce elections for 224 assembly seats in Karnataka in a few months. A team of the commission visited the state on March 9 this month.
