Karnataka BJP MLA Son Arrested: In Karnataka, the son of BJP MLA has been arrested by Lokayukta officials for taking bribe. The officers have caught him red handed while taking bribe.

Bengaluru: The BJP engaged in preparations for the assembly elections in Karnataka may face a setback. In fact, the officer’s son of the party’s MLA has been arrested by the Lokayukta officials while taking a bribe of Rs 40 lakh. The name of this MLA is Madal Virupakshappa and he is an MLA from Channagiri in Davangere district. Apart from this, Madal is also the president of KSDL.

According to news agency PTI, the MLA’s son’s name is Prashant Kumar and he is the Chief Accounts Officer of Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB). Prashant has been arrested by Lokayukta officials from the office of Karnataka Soap and Detergent Limited (KSDL). This company is famous for making Mysore Sandal Soap. At least 3 bags full of notes have been recovered from the company’s office.

Complaint lodged against Prashant

MLA Madal Virupakshappa is the chairman of Soaps and Detergents Limited of Karnataka. According to Lokayukta sources, a person had filed a complaint against Prashant a week ago. The youth had alleged in the complaint on Thursday morning that the MLA’s son was demanding a bribe of Rs 81 lakh. Acting on this complaint, the Lokayukta laid a trap and arrested Prashant red-handed. 40 lakh rupees have been seized from Prashant.

Lokayukta laid a trap

After the complaint was registered, the Lokayukta officials laid a trap in which Prashant got trapped. The Lokayukta officer says that money was received on behalf of KSDL chairman Virupakshappa for the purchase of raw materials. The trap was laid at 6.45 pm. The KSDL chairman and the accused who took the money are father and son.
