Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will reach Bengaluru this morning to further intensify the party's campaign for the Karnataka assembly elections. After that he will go to Kolar and address Congress's Jai Bharat rally there.

Karnataka Election 2023: As the election of Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 is coming closer, all the political parties are busy in rallying for their candidates. Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Kolar in poll-bound Karnataka today. This is the same place where he made the comment on Modi surname, for which he was convicted of criminal defamation and disqualified from Parliament.

According to state Congress sources, former AICC president Rahul Gandhi will reach Bengaluru on Sunday morning and will go to Kolar from there. Here he will address the ‘Jai Bharat’ rally organized by the party. After which the Congress leader will inaugurate the newly constructed ‘Indira Gandhi Bhavan’ in the evening.

JDS announces six more candidates

The Janata Dal (Secular) on Saturday announced six more candidates for the Karnataka assembly elections. Raghu Achar, who recently left the Congress, has been fielded from Chitradurga. Whereas, former MLA Dr. Bharti Shankar will challenge Congress veteran and former CM Siddaramaiah and BJP minister V Somanna on Varuna seat. JDS has fielded Dr. Devraj Patil from Bagalkot. MN Muthappa has been given ticket from Madikeri and Amarashree from Moodbidri.

Congress has not yet released the name of its candidate for Kolar Assembly Constituency. Voting for the upcoming election in Karnataka is to be done after a few weeks on 10th May, the counting of votes will take place after three weeks on 13th.

Gandhi Newly built Indira Gandhi Bhawan near Karnataka PCC office in Bengaluru, this building has been constructed as an office and auditorium, which has a seating capacity of 750 people. AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, general secretary in-charge of Karnataka Randeep Singh Surjewala, KPCC chief DK Shivakumar, legislature party leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah are expected to participate in the programmes.
